About the Artist

Diane Grdina is an emerging artist based in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. Working primarily in Oil and Oil & Cold Wax she draws inspiration from the natural world where her subject matter oscillates between the recognizable and the abstract. Intuitively she allows process and material to guide the evolution of each piece resulting in works that invite contemplation and emotional engagement. Diane has developed several important series that reflect her sustained inquiry into the interrelationship between memory, perception, and landscape.
Diane has exhibited her work at the Federation of Canadian Artists Gallery in Vancouver, the Maury Young Arts Centre in Whistler, and in a number of online exhibitions. Her paintings are held in private collections across Canada and the United States, reflecting the growing appreciation for her distinctive approach to contemporary painting.
Diane is currently being mentored by Manon Sanders and is an exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. A portion of her sales are donated to the Whistler Community Services Society as she is passionate about food security.
